Featured Corset: Bella Black Mesh Corset
At this point, it’s old hat to say that there’s no magic bullet when it comes to losing weight and eliminating stubborn belly fat – not even the Magic Bullet Blender can accomplish this feat (since you could just as easily use it to make milkshakes as nutritious smoothies). Not that I’ve done it. Okay, I’ve definitely done it.
While we’ve all tried to do it the quick and easy way with fad diets fueled by celebrity endorsements, each is worse than the next. Some diets advocate eating dirt (like bentonite clay), living on air (simply breathing in the aroma of food without eating it, which frankly, sounds like a form of torture), and even ingesting (hrrk) a tape worm. Like so many others, I had very high hopes for the cookie diet, but alas, Grannie’s chocolate chip cookies did not qualify, and the ones that did made me long for the mouthwatering appeal of sawdust.
Even the diets that help you to lose weight often fail eventually when you have to start eating normally again. Of course, you could always cut to the chase, so to speak, and simply opt for liposuction or a tummy tuck, but what if you’re not keen to go under the knife?
In truth, the best way to lose weight and keep it off is through a smart diet and exercise routines that are healthy and sustainable for lifelong practice (although at some point, you’ll start maintaining your weight, rather than continuing to lose weight). The difficulty that many people face when they want to make such lifestyle adjustments is to find the motivation early on to make their changes into habits.
In this regard, corsets can be a major asset. If you’re wondering how to lose belly fat with waist trainers, read on to learn how this supportive compression garment could become your best friend in the battle to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
A Redistribution Solution
Let’s just be very clear about one thing – simply wearing a waist training corset will not eliminate fat or reduce your weight. Promises of a quick fix for weight loss are basically outright lies. That said, donning a corset can provide one very important benefit: Fat redistribution.
Whether you’re still carrying some baby weight several months post-delivery (See: How Can Waist Training Help After Pregnancy?) or you’ve simply amassed some unwanted fat around the midsection (a common result of factors like aging, poor diet, and changing metabolism), cinching up a corset and engaging in waist training can not only deliver an immediately slimmer appearance, but it can also lead to semi-permanent long-term results when done appropriately.
While this doesn’t magically transport your belly fat to another dimension, it does provide the opportunity to create the proportions you might enjoy should you shed unwanted pounds. If you just have a bit of extra pooch, the softer parts of your abdomen (fat, organs, and the space in between) will simply compress. If you’ve got a bit more to work with, you’ll find that the right style of corset can help you to compress certain areas and redistribute in others, perhaps accentuating a smaller bosom or the hip/buttock area, for example.
How to Lose Belly Fat with Waist Trainers
Again, a waist training corset does not eliminate fat in and of itself, but like the blender mentioned above, it can contribute to weight loss when used correctly. It can help you to progress through your weight loss journey by providing a form of motivation (See: Corset Motivation).
We all know that temptation is around every corner when it comes to diet and exercise. Commercials are basically food porn (especially those cringe-worthy Carl’s Jr. ads featuring scantily clad models and celebrities going to town on greasy burgers) and there’s always an excuse to shirk exercise in favor of something “more important” (like binging The Great British Bake-Off…why is our culture so obsessed with food?!). Sigh. The struggle is real.
The point is that it can be pretty hard to maintain motivation with so much in life working against you. This is especially true when the results of a safe and healthy diet and exercise are slow to materialize. Corsets help by delivering the immediate improvements you crave, slimming your waist and redistributing belly fat to create a svelte physique and hourglass proportions.
Your clothing will fit better and you’ll experience improved confidence that will push you to continue with the diet and exercise regimen that will help you to lose weight and reduce fat over time. As you start to size down — not just through ongoing waist training, but through real progressive weight loss — your successes will multiply, reinforcing positive habits until you’ve reached your goal weight.

My name is Rachel, I am the owner of Glamorous Corset, a small business founded by me in 2010. Back In 2005, I was in a car accident that left me with a herniated disk. Much to my surprise I learned steel boned corsets were beneficial to several medical injuries including mine. I was always intrigued with corsetry, their history and their beautiful aesthetic. I love sharing knowledge about corsets, educating my wonderful readers and breaking the negative stigma related to corsetry. In combination with my years of research and personal experience I hope my articles are useful and can help anyone who has struggled with some of the same things I have. More about me…
